The Rater Programme is an initiative within the NIHR Mental Health Translational Research Collaboration Mission Mood Disorders Workstream.
The primary purpose is to collate a registry of rater capacity and capabilities, and establish network-wide inter-rater reliability (IRR). This registry will be included in a network dossier to showcase network expertise and reduce trial start-up times by serving as a precursory feasibility assessment.
To achieve and demonstrate a high network-wide standard of mood disorder assessments, we also provide training to upskill novice raters. We have worked with experienced researchers within the network to develop a comprehensive training pathway and learning resources that are informed by lived-experience as well as research practice.
A skilled workforce of research practitioners with IRR spanning the UK will strengthen our position for industry research collaborations, in turn improving public access to novel treatments for Mood Disorders.
